If you have been watching the news or have been on TikTok recently you've seen the case about Lucy Letby. She was a neonatal nurse from England who was charged with the murder of 7 babies and the attempted murder of 10. The jury has just made their verdict, so if you want to listen to the podcast before you find out how the trial ends, here it is.

The Trial of Lucy Letby podcast is told by Liz Hull and Caroline Cheetham, who cover the trial week by week as it has been actively taking place. There are over 50 episodes, averaging around 20 minutes. Each episode gives a summary of what the jury heard in court that week and has bonus episodes by experts to give their thoughts and opinions.

What I really like about this podcast is that Liz and Caroline wanted to make sure they were only reporting what the jury had already heard. I think they came from a place of objective journalism and did a great job of not adding theories or personal opinions. It gives a different perspective, hearing live updates and only hearing what the jury has heard. You also get to hear the testimonies from the parents, which shows true bravery in facing your child's murderer and reliving what happened.

When I first started listening, I too was trying very hard to come from an objective place. Waiting to hear all the facts before I made my own opinion. But seriously there were soooo many "coincidences" with her always being around. The way she texted her friends/other nurses that it "always happened to her", and that she was always taking on extra shifts. It was hard to stay objective when so many alarms were ringing. What's also terrible was the hospital! Why the fuck were they not questioning so many deaths in such a short amount of time? Why did they take so long to move her off that ward? Why is she such an evil monster?

This case is truly, disturbing and horrendous. Some episodes can be difficult to listen to but if you want to fully understand the entire case I highly recommend this podcast. Have you listened? How long have you been following this case? What say you?
