Is it weird to say I love the idea of sipping mimosas and listening to murders? Many people sit down with a glass of wine or a cold beer to watch TV, why not take the time to mix yourself a cocktail while listening to a podcast?
A mother and daughter team, Danica and Shannon host Murder and Mimosas Podcast. Their episodes air every Saturday and they invite you to sit down with your mimosa and listen to their podcast. Their episodes tend to be under half an hour and many cases are probably ones you never heard of. They take listener requests and recommendations and do a thorough job of researching each case. I especially enjoy the episodes going state by state and telling a death penalty case. They bring a fun, sarcastic, sassy Southern charm to each episode. Because they are a mother-daughter pair, they can each give their perspective on a different generational level. I appreciate that they put a disclaimer before each episode and make it clear, that while they are making it light by encouraging you to have a mimosa, the topics they discuss are heavy and that the telling of each story is coming from a place of respect for the victim and the victims family.
What can be better than listening to a true crime podcast and sipping on a mimosa? If you are looking to listen to more cases you've never heard of and keep them short but full of information this is the podcast for you. Have you listened? Will you give them a try? What say you?
